Do some research and look up something higher on overall volume. Losing weight ultimately is what gets rid of the flabbiness, but since you are a beginner you could definitely put on some muscle as well. I think you want something more aesthetic. The strength gains are great but that's definitely not what I'm sensing is you goal. Gaining strength will of course help build muscle in the long run, but SL 5x5 is low volume in the upper body so you won't really see a whole lot of added muscle. Getting "toned" isn't really about gaining strength, it's more about building muscle. I'd say it is pretty sub-optimal for your goals. I appreciate and help, sorry for the wall of text. Does this seem like a solid plan or should I be looking for a completely different routine? I plan on doing the routine then another 20 or so minutes of cardio after. With the stronglifts, I'm not concerned about getting big muscle mass, just toning up. I'm still flabby for lack of a better work, so I'd like to burn fat and get toned as well.

My question is, is a stronglifts 5x5 routine good for me? While I've lost a decent amount of weight I'm still at 207 lbs and want to get down another 25 or so. I plan on doing at least 4 or 5 trips this summer to the mountains for scouting and preparing, but living an hour and a half from the mountains it's not something I can do regularly. I know that hiking is the best way to prepare for. This will be roughly 7-10 miles of hiking in different mountain terrain. I am now in the process of getting in shape for backcountry hunting in October and November. I have lost 25 lbs since then and feel great. My wife and I started keto January first and have had no issue staying on it, no cheat days or anything.
